This post goes out to all those who are self-employed, office-free, freelancers as well as those who just need to get out of the office for a while. The heart of the CBD has a ton of cafes and restaurants that seem ideal for work as they provide free WiFi.

Wi-Fi(/ˈwaɪfaɪ/) — is a method for devices such as smartphones to connect wirelessly to the Internet using radio waves and something most of us can’t live without.

This guide is ideal for those who are based in the Clarke Quay, Tanjong Pagar areas as well as Chinatown in Singapore. However, how many of these cafes are really are going to be okay with you just taking up space, using their WiFi and free loading off their power sockets to charge your computer? Crucial indeed, because I’ve had my fair share of being kicked out of a cafe for sitting there too long. I mean, I guess it’s fine if it was a coffee joint but cafes have a way better quiet working environment that I found extra amazing especially when I was studying in high school as a student. Wow, typing this makes me miss university already, and I can’t wait to be back in school in the next couple of weeks.

Shop Wonderland Cafe

The first cafe, and also one of my personal favourites is Shop Wonderland.

Apart from their hip-and-cool hexagon flower pots and gradient walls, the soft serve, coffee and the rice-bowls here are a must try.

My Awesome Cafe

A historical shophouse in Singapore, turned into what many would call a “hipster”  cafe.

Hard to believe that this place used to be a hospital back in the day. They are known for their east-meets-west cuisine. A great place to chill and grab a cuppa with your laptop.

Clubhouse

Come and lounge around at clubhouse’s sofa and pod areas which are amazing for group discussions and meetings.
